Kraj: Wykorzystanie do: Opis działania: Prior to 2012 elections, Serbian social media was overflown with comments expressing people’s dissatisfaction and disappointment in politics. This was apparently caused by the lack of politicians’ responsiveness to citizens’ expectations, as well as by the absence of clarity and consistency in the parties’ policies. Numerous discussions on portals such as Peščanik and B92, as well as in the blogosphere and social networks, converged into a wide decentralized campaign of calling voters to vote for no one and to spoil their ballot. The purpose of this online campaign was for the people to pass a strong message to politicians that they need to work harder and be fully accountable to citizens if they want to earn their support. This so called Blank Ballot movement (Beli listići, Beli glas) managed to mobilize over 170,000 people, or 4.4% of voters, to spoil their ballot. Many of them photographed their creative voting act and posted the images online, which was carefully collected and strongly promoted by activist groups such as Anonymous Serbia: http:// bit.ly/BeliListici.
