We’re happy to announce that ePanstwo Foundation has received a one year grant from National Endowment for Democracy dedicated to the “Support for the Code for All network” that has started on July 1, 2017.

It will allow the network to build internal institutional capacity as well as leverage this global network potential to replicate successful technology tools and best practices to countries around the world. More info about NED support you can read here. The emphasis will be put on greater citizen engagement and strengthening government effectiveness through the use of civic technology

The objective of NED-funded program is to:

  • strengthen the organisational capacity of the Code for All network and its affiliates to promote and replicate civic tech tools, strategies and collaborations globally, both within and outside the network;
  • foster knowledge exchange that will help partners in consolidating democracies to transform local and national governments’ culture and onboard officials to transparency, accountability and digital government services projects;
  • replicate internationally tools that has been successful locally in bringing more transparency to public institutions and their processes;
  • engage citizens in decision making by using tools that educate and bridge the gap between various stakeholders’ interests.

For several years ePanstwo Foundation’s Code for Poland program has been an active member of the global Code for All network. It supported transforming Code for All from a Code for America’s initiative into a decentralised network, organizing a network’s summit in Gdansk next to Personal Democracy Forum CEE 2016 conference and onboarding new members like Code for Romania and Code for Canada, among other activities.

We are now in Taipei, Taiwan, for a week-long Civic Tech Fest, an event that encompasses both MySociety’s TicTec: Impact of Civic Technology conference and Code for All summit. From keynotes, panels, unconference sessions, meetings, working group sessions and demo nights we’re going to bring a new contacts, projects and ideas that will strengthen international aspect of our work and others’ work.
